Mike Ankener • Marketing Director
Known for creating revenue-generating programs, as Marketing Director for Loews Cineplex Entertainment, Mike worked closely with Family Circle Magazine, to create “Family Movie Nite,” an integrated merchandising program that attracted and renewed significant revenue for the magazine. Mike’s career at Loews included all aspects of brand marketing and media promotions with media partners such as Entertainment Weekly, MSN, The New York Times, and Cosmo Girl. Later he oversaw online marketing, film studios’ in-theater promotions, revenue-driving programs, media partnerships, and the company’s role in the launch of Fandango.com. Years before the phrase “social media” was coined, Mike created a unique virally-marketed website in which four competing movie studios worked together to promote the launch of the ticketing site. As Director of Marketing/Business Development, Time Out New York, Mike developed numerous sponsored products, including “TONYFreeFlix,” which continues to drive awareness for movie studios while enabling Time Out to generate incremental revenue through third-party sponsorship. As Director of Marketing for Time TVGuide.com and later for ReadersDigest.com, Mike worked closely with sales and planning teams as he developed strategies and ensured delivery against milestone online and integrated campaigns, for best-in-class advertising partners such as Proctor & Gamble (Crest and Oral B brands), Vaseline, Target, Walmart, Vicks, Swiffer, Tylenol, Windex and Campbell’s.
